10 minute poster

-
About 10 minutes ago I turned to my left and said to Andy "Give me a word!" to which he replied: "Possibility". I then turned to my right and said to Rhian "Give me a word!" to which she replied: "Response". After getting my words I asked each of them for a colour and i was given Black and Pink. Now that all my info was collected I gave myself 10 minutes to design a poster.
Just a creative and quick way to pass the time in uni while I wait to present my work at 2pm.

Dan hardy UFC

-
Started watching 'The Ultimate Fighter' season 1 recently, and now I'm hooked.
It's definitely expanded my interest more into mixed martial arts, and now I don't mind sitting down to watch the UFC either.
In the first live bout I watched I saw the well known British UFC star - Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy.
Unfortunately, (even though you could see he was a very good fighter) he lost, and when asked "What went wrong?" by the post fight interviewer he replied "I got punched in the face." What a legend.
Here's a poster I did about him.

Blinded by the lights.

-
This is my aesthetic perception of The Streets song - Blinded by the lights.
Watch the video here and see if you can work it out.
It's one of my favorite songs and I had it on in the background while I designed this piece.
It's sort of a 'design of the day' but I've been really busy recently and I've not had the chance to do many blog posts let alone designs other than client work.
"The lights are blinding my eyes."

Design of the day

-
I've done my design of the day early today so I have the rest of the day to do more important things that I've been putting off.
This was inspired by a 'Cadbury Mini Eggs' - Easter egg box I still have in my room.

Design of the day

-
Here's my design of the day.
I've actually done a good few today but this is the only one I'm allowed to show for now.
(Did it in the last 20 minutes)
It's a little rushed, but my time was tight.
Michelangelo has always been my favorite turtle, since I was very young, he loves pizza, and has the best weapons in my opinion... I only found out this evening though, that Michelangelo is also the 'Creative Turtle' out of all 4.

Karate Kid

-
My design of the day is another Karate Kid poster.
Now that I've seen the film I had some slightly wittier and less commercial ideas to design with.

Typography

-
These were originally designed for my behance portfolio, but I don't feel they are quite good enough - There are some seriously slick designers on that site!
Don't get me wrong I do like them, so I'll put them up here, on my 'online visual diary'.
The first design was created while listening to Lenny Kravitz - "I want to fly awaaaaaaaay!" and the other poster is my expression on how I believe the term 'Living the dream' sounds terrible when said, its on par with "bwwooi".

The Helvetica Disease

-
After watching the Helvetica film, I found it very interesting to see different opinions of the font, from highly rated designers and typographers.
I came to the conclusion that I love the font, and it can be used for almost anything if used correctly, BUT designers should not limit themselves to this one typeface.
For this poster I used Pentagon Design, a Bridgend based design agency as the subject for the design.
The reasoning behind this poster is to show how Helvetica is everywhere, almost like a disease, and Pentagon Design were the most recent victims.
I used Pentagon's logo to create DNA, I then changed their DIN typeface to Helvetica, to show the transition of the Helvetica take over.
Just a bit of fun, for my design a thing a day project (when I have time).

Bell'

-
Got called a 'bell' the other day, and it's made me laugh ever since...
So I made this.
